The Head of the law enforcement unit at Entebbe Division “A’ as well as the legal Advisor for the Adhola community in Entebbe, Lawrence Onyango is set to quit his job to run for Parliamentary seat in West Budama North Constituency in Tororo district.
Mr. Onyango said on April 7, 2025 that he has already prepared his resignation letter as required by Law to go and fulfill his political dream.
MP hopeful Onyango says he is determined to unseat the incumbent legislator for West Budama North constituency, Hon. Maximus Ochai whom he says has not delivered to expectations of the electorate.
Determined Onyango says he will first battle with the incumbent legislator in the NRM party primaries, and in the event he loses the party primaries he is ready to flout the party constitution and run as an independent candidate.
Onyango is very confident that if elected to represent the people of West Budama North Constituency, he will begin with repairing Tororo- Nagongera-Busolwe Road which is currently in a dire state.
He says besides this, he intends to lobby for funds to fix all health centers in West Budama North Constituency on top of ensuring they are equipped with essential drugs. He also pledged to help marginalized people such as women, youths and disabled persons through the introduction of empowerment programs that equip them with the necessary skills that can enable them to survive economically.
Mr. Onyango, who started his political career while a student at Nagongera Boys Primary School, then at St. Kizito’s Primary School and later at Rock High School, believes that his vast experience in leadership makes him the right candidate to represent the people of West Budama North Constituency in Tororo district.
