The current whereabouts of fugitive Uganda Law Society President, Isaac Ssemakadde have been revealed by acid tongued Stella Nyanzi, who is herself in self-imposed exile.
Nyanzi let the proverbial cat out of the bag in an X-message on the evening of Tuesday, 15th April, 2025.
“It is an honour for me to host my little-brother, comrade, friend, lawyer and advocate, Mr @IsaacSsemakadde the president of@ug_lawsociety in Bavaria. Snipers meeting! The rest, zeee…” Nyanzi posted on her X-handle.
In the same post, is a short video where Nyanzi is excitedly welcoming Ssemakadde. “Hi Isaac, (laughs), it is good to see you,” Nyanzi is heard saying.
Bavaria, is a state in the southeast of Germany and it is the largest Land (state) of Germany, comprising the entire southeastern portion of the country.
Ssemakadde whose warrant of arrest still stands is said to have eluded arrest by sneaking out of the country through Rwanda where he supposedly went to attend an international conference in his official capacity.
The warrant issued by Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi of Buganda Road Court was ordering Interpol to apprehend Isaac Ssemakadde and bring him to Kampala by today, April 16, 2025.
Ssemakadde is wanted to face charges of insulting the modesty of a woman—specifically, Uganda’s Director of Public Prosecutions, Jane Frances Abodo.
This stems from a private prosecution by lawyers; Tony Tumukunde and Joshua Byamazima who allege that Ssemakadde made obscene remarks about Abodo during a November 18, 2024, symposium.
The charge falls under Section 115(3) of Uganda’s Penal Code Act, tied to a two-year contempt of court sentence Ssemakadde received earlier, after which he reportedly went into hiding.
