MBALE CITY
The minister of health, Dr. Ruth Achen has officially declared Uganda Ebola free.
She made the pronouncement on Saturday, 26th April, 2025 at Busamaga playground located in Industrial city division, Mbale city during a ministry of health function with the world health organization on Ebola outbreak.
According to the minister, Ebola which broke out in Mbale city early this year, killed one person while others were treated from Mbale regional referral hospital and were discharged after full recovery.
Mbale Resident City Commissioner Asumin Nasike Who also doubled as Mbale city Ebola task force chairperson thanked people of Mbale for following guidelines of the ministry of health which led to the kicking out of Ebola in Mbale and Uganda at large.
She urged the public to always remain alert by reporting suspected patients with signs of Ebola at the nearest health center.
