MBALE CITY
The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party in Mbale City on Saturday, 3rd May, 2025 elected a new executive leadership team as the 2026 general election approaches.
The election follows the departure of three key executive members, including the former chairperson, Haji Massa Musa, who defected to the National Unity Platform (NUP) in April, 2025.
Newly elected leaders include Chairperson Godfrey Wasukira, Vice Chairperson Sauda Namutosi, General Secretary Mary Adikin, and Treasurer Aziz Naswagi.
Others are; Secretary for Mobilization and Publicity Umaru Mwekolyo Umaru, Secretary for Women Asina Mafuko, Secretary for Youth (Female)Sylvia Namono, Secretary for Youth (Male) James Sosojji Allan, Secretary for Elderly and Veteran Affairs Patrick Wabuje, Secretary for People with Disabilities Johnson Mutambo, and Secretary for Security, Sowedi Wanyama.
Sezi Mafabi, who had been acting as interim chairperson, stated that the party’s focus is now on winning all elective seats in the city.
The new leadership team will work towards identifying and supporting candidates from LC1 to mayoral levels to compete effectively with other political parties in the 2026 general election.
