A truck loaded with cows has overturned killing 9 people who were aboard the same truck on spot.
According to SP Michael Kananura, Spokesperson, Traffic Police and Road Safety, the single fatal crash occurred today, Wednesday, 7th May, 2025 at 12:40 pm on the Kapchorwa-Mbale highway at Kapwachiti in Kapchorwa District.
The accident also left three persons nursing serious injuries and many of the cows dead.
Kananura says preliminary reports indicate that the driver, who was transporting cows & people on top, lost control on a slope due to brake failure. The vehicle overturned, killing 9 people & injuring 03 all on the said vehicle.
“All truck drivers are urged to adhere to safety regulations and refrain from transporting passengers on top of cargo,” urges Kananura saying everybody should prioritize safety & protect human lives.
