A tragic accident has left the Makerere University College of Education and External Studies fraternity in tears after claiming the life of a Second year student doing her School Practice in Iganga.
According to a death announcement by the University, Tikiboneka Mariam, a 2nd Year student of Bachelor of Arts with Education (LIT & ELS) was knocked by a trailer at Nakalama, Iganga, at about 4:00PM on Wednesday, 28th May, 2025

We regret to announce the passing of *Tikiboneka Mariam,* a 2nd Year student of *Bachelor of Arts with Education* (LIT & ELS).
She tragically lost her life today, *28th May 2025*, at around 4:00pm after being knocked by a trailer at *Nakalama, Iganga*, while on school practice.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and classmates during this difficult time.
