The Ministry of Health has clarified on recent Media reports suggesting a resurgence of Covid-19 cases in the Country.
According to a statement issued today, Wednesday, 11th June, 2025, by the Director General Health Services, Dr. Olaro Charles, the circulating messages on Social Media are old clips being re-shared by unscrupulous individuals to mislead members of the public.
“The Ministry reassures the public that there is no resurgence of Covid-19 in Uganda and the national situation remains stable and fully under control,” reads the statement in part.
He says Uganda is closely monitoring information about new strains of Covid-19 being reported in other parts of the world and is working closely with other stakeholders to ensure continued safety of the population.
However, the Ministry urges anybody who shows flu-like symptoms consistent with Cocid-19 to visit the nearest Health facility for further management.
