The Sironko District LCV Chairperson, David Livingston Giluli, has lost the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party primaries.
The elections were held on Saturday, 5th July, 2025 for the positions of district chairperson and Member of Parliament.
Francis Manyaku, the current LC3 Chairperson of Budadiri Town Council, emerged victorious as the district chairperson flag bearer, polling 361 votes against the incumbent Livingston Giluli, who garnered 354 votes.
In other election results, Jackson Magombe, the personal assistant to Nathan Nandala Mafabi, won unopposed as the flag bearer for Budadiri West constituency Member of Parliament after his opponents withdrew from the race, citing concerns over the election process.
Phiona Banga was given the FDC flag bearer ticket for Sironko district Woman Member of Parliament, beating her main challenger, Robinah Wamanga.
Isaiah Sasaga Wanzira was declared unopposed as the flag bearer for Budadiri East constituency Member of Parliament.
The FDC registrar for Sironko district, Moses Wakoka, declared the elections free and fair, but some losing candidates have expressed their intention to petition or contest as independents.
Francis Manyaku has urged his opponent, the current LC5 Chairperson, to support him for the good of the party.
