Mbale District NRM Chairman, Wambogo Moses has announced the suspension of joint NRM primaries campaigns in Bungokho South constituency.
The decision came on Wednesday, 9th July, 2025 after a tragic accident in Burukuru-Bukiende involving a vehicle carrying a music system and supporters of Agnes Wazemwa Wabuyi, the aspiring Bungokho South MP.
The vehicle lost control and rammed into the bush, resulting in the deaths of two people, with many others sustaining injuries. The accident has shocked the whole constituency prompting Wambogo to take action.
According to Wambogo, the campaigns in Bungokho South will not resume until candidates adhere to party guidelines.
The suspension is a measure to ensure that all stakeholders prioritize the safety and well-being of supporters. The party leadership is working with authorities to investigate the accident and know what exactly happened.
