Jackson Wakwaika, the LCV Chairperson of Namisindwa, has accused three Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) of planning to influence tomorrow’s (Thursday, 24th July, 2025) NRM party primary election.

The accused RDCs are George William Wopuwa, RDC of Mbale district and resident of Namisindwa; Rogers Walyama, Assistant RDC of Namisindwa and Bosco Nabongo, Assistant RDC of Namisindwa.

While speaking to media on Wednesday, 23rd July, 2025, Wakwaika claims Wopuwa has been holding secret meetings at his home in Bubutu sub-county to undermine his candidacy.

He also accuses Walyama of criticizing his leadership on radio stations, arguing that it doesn’t make sense for him to seek re-election if he’s failed to manage the district.

Wakwaika warns that the RDCs might use their powers to threaten voters into supporting his opponents based on the intelligence information he has got.

However, after contacting Wopuwa denies the allegations, stating he contested against Wakwaika in 2021 and lost, so he has no reason to undermine him.

He claims his home is frequently visited by community members, and he can’t chase them away.

Wopuwa emphasizes that as RDC of Mbale, he can’t influence elections in Namisindwa.

Roger Walyama the assistant RDC of Namisindwa says he’s been criticizing poor service delivery as RDC and resident of Namisindwa, but has no political intentions.
