Businessman Paul Sentongo is dead after 4 years out of Kigo prisons. He died of high blood pressure on the night of 27th, August, 28, 2025.
The businessman who had just returned on the social scene was rushed to Kisubi hospital on August 27,2025, after his health condition worsened but unfortunately he died in the hospital the following day.
Last night on August 28, 2025, a vigil was conducted at his home in Kabale /Bunono village, Katabi Town Council, Wakiso district. He is survived with several children and he will be laid to rest today on August 29,2025 at his ancestral burial site in Kabale/Bunono village, Katabi Town Council, Wakiso district. Many socialites who have been partying with the deceased attended his vigil and described him as a peaceful person even when he was too drunk.
It should be recalled that 4 years ago, the deceased survived a 39year-jail term that had been handed to him by then Justice Joseph Murangira over the murder of Derrick Coggon, the proprietor of 4Turkeys’ bar in Entebbe town.
The businessman who slept in jail for close to 5years was saved by court of appeal after it overturned the evidence on which the High court based on to convict him. The court of appeal acquitted him of murder charges.
Before his death, the businessman had plans to file a case in court asking government to compensate him for the time he spent in jail and the psychological torture he suffered as a result of being convicted to 39years in jail yet he had no hand in the death of Derrick Coggon.
