One person has died on spot in a fatal accident that occurred in Lugazi II village along Jinja – Kampala highway in Buikwe District this morning the 29th August 2025 involving a Toyota Premio Reg. No. UAZ 739J Toyota Premio driven by a yet to be identified driver died on spot and Sino truck Reg. No. RAG 893Q/RL5431.
Ssezibwa police spokesperson, SP Hellen Butoto says Toyota Premio was being driven by a yet to be identified deceased driver from the direction of Kampala heading towards Jinja side and upon reaching Lugazi II village, he left his lane and attempted to overtake another vehicle.
“In that process he collided head-on with motor vehicle Sino truck Howo which was coming from the opposite direction of Jinja to Kampala and died on spot.” Said Butoto.
By the time of filing this story, the body of the deceased driver had been transferred to Jinja hospital morgue for a postmortem report and both vehicles towed and parked at Njeru police station yard as investigations continue.
