Court in Kibaale presided over by the Chief Magistrate, Nazifah Namayanja, on September 3, 2025, remanded rowdy Onesmas Twinamasiko, the NRM Parliamentary flag bearer for Bugangaizi East Constituency for allegedly slapping Prime Minister, Robinah Nabanjja like a nursery kid.
Prosecution alleges that on July 17, 2025 during the declaration of the NRM party primary results at Kakumiro District NRM offices, a scuffle ensued and Twinamasiko allegedly used it as a platform to assault the Prime Minister in the presence of several party supporters and security personnel. However, party supporters poked holes in the premier’s security team for failing to guard her against the accused person.
Twinamasiko who faces charges of assault and causing bodily harm denied any wrongdoing. The Chief Magistrate later remanded him to Kibaale Government Prison to enjoy free posho and beans plus free accommodation until September 10, 2025, when he returns to court for hearing of his bail application.
