Police in Manafwa district are currently hunting for a 43 year old man who allegedly defiled a 15 year old Primary seven pupil.
According to SP Rogers Taitika, the Elgon Region Police Spokesperson, the incident happened, on Monday, 15th September, 2025 about 11:30 pm in Buwasyeba village, Namikelo parish in Bugebero Sub County.
He says the victim attended a night party But while on her way back home, the suspect, identified as Joel Kitongo armed with a machete cut the girl’s left thumb, undressed her and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.
Taitika says the victim made an alarm which attracted neighbors who came and the suspect later fled the scene with the victim’s clothing.
He says the victim is currently nursing wounds at Bugebero health center 4 as police launches a manhunt for Kitongo.
He urged the public to be security cautious about their children especially at this school time and not leave them to move alone during night time.
