The Inspector General of Police has given a greenlight towards the Homecoming event for the 1st Deputy Premier and Minister for East African Affairs, Rt Hon. Rebecca Kadaga scheduled for today, Friday, 19th September, 2025.
The approval however has limited the activities as earlier presented to the IGP by the organizing Committee chaired by Peter Kisambaira in a letter dated 12th September, 2025.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, 18th September, the Kiira Region Police Spokesperson, SP Mubi says the IGP has changed the venue for the earlier proposed mini-rally at Busoga Square to Jinja Show grounds.
He added that the procession, as earlier proposed by the organizers, had been canceled, and the rally would be held at Kamuli Municipal Council grounds.
Mubi adds that procession will not be allowed because it may disrupt traffic and the business of people in the city and alongside the road urging the supporters to follow police guidelines.
