Uganda National Oil Company Senior Engineer Drowns in R. Nile During Family Day Out

Busowoko falls where the Engineer drowned from

Jinja marine police on Sunday 12th October retrieved the body of UNOC Jinja storage terminal operations manager from River Nile.

 

According to Kiira Police Spokesperson, SP James Mubi, Jinja police marine unit led by ASP Sunday Bruno in conjunction with local divers at Busowoko falls in Jinja district retrieved the body of Eng. Gershom Rwakasanga 53.

 

Eng. Rwakasanga met his fate on Saturday, October 11 during a family day out with his daughter at Busowoko falls in Butagaya Sub County in Jinja district.

 

They arrived at Busowoko falls at around 4.30 PM and the drowning occurred at around 5.30PM. Consequently, joint efforts to have his body retrieved commenced until Sunday, October 12 at around midday.

 

By press time, the deceased’s body had been taken to Jinja Regional Referral Hospital morgue as investigations into the incident continues.
