PALLISA: Bajaj Rider Knocks Land Cruiser, Dies on Spot

A Bajaj rider carrying two passengers has died after losing control and crossing into the opposite lane hitting the rear left-hand side of a Toyota Land Cruiser at around 11:30 AM, along the Kumi-Pallisa road in Okutai village, Pallisa district.

 

According the Police Spokesperson, Bukedi Noth, the tragic accident occurred on Sunday, October 12, 2025 where the motorcycle, registration number UMA481AN, traveling from Pallisa towards Kumi, carrying two passengers knocked the Land Cruiser.

 

According to eyewitnesses, the rider allegedly lost control and crossed into the opposite lane, hitting the rear left-hand side of the Toyota Land Cruiser, registration number UAY702Y, which was heading towards Pallisa from Kumi.

 

The impact caused the rider and passengers to fall, resulting in the death of the rider, identified as Mpyangu Abdu Karim, a 20-year-old salesman of Wattu Company.

 

Two other victims, Diogo Sadat, a 17-year-old and Charles Mateeka, a 26-year-old both salesmen of Wattu Company, were rushed to Pallisa General Hospital for treatment.

 

According to Wilfred Kyempasa, the Bukedi North region police spokesperson, the scene was visited by IP Chekwoti Immaculate, Officer in Charge of Traffic Pallisa, and crew, who drew a sketch plan and collected evidence.

 

He says the body of the deceased was taken to Pallisa Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

 

The accident has brought to light the need for road safety awareness and adherence to traffic rules. The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
