MBALE CITY

Centenary Bank is set to unveil a new multi-purpose commercial complex in Mbale City on Saturday, October 18, 2025, in a move aimed at strengthening its regional presence and promoting financial inclusion in Eastern Uganda.

The new Centenary bank building that will officially be opened by His Grace Dr. Emmanuel Obbo, the Archbishop of Tororo, will serve as both the regional office for Centenary Bank and a business hub for public and private sector entities.

The project reflects its commitment to decentralizing development and expanding modern infrastructure beyond Kampala.

“Centenary Group House – Mbale is a powerful statement of faith in regional Uganda,” Prof. John Ddumba-Ssentamu, Chairman of Centenary Group said.

“It demonstrates our belief that growth must not be centralized in Kampala. By extending modern financial infrastructure into Mbale, we are opening doors for enterprise, employment, and collaboration across sectors,” he adds.

Built with sustainability and accessibility in mind, the facility features smart energy systems, customer-friendly designs, and state-of-the-art office space. The building is expected to host government agencies, NGOs, startups, and private firms seeking reliable utilities, digital connectivity, and proximity to Centenary Bank’s financial services.

Centenary Group says the new investment also aligns with the Uganda Digital Transformation Roadmap, through which the Group is expanding data infrastructure, digital payments, and regional service delivery to enable individuals and businesses to thrive in the digital economy.

“This building brings our brand promise to life,” said Illona Ndagire, Group Corporate Affairs Manager. “It’s about convenience, connection, and creating shared value for the communities and enterprises that choose to operate here.”

The Mbale City complex marks another milestone in Centenary Group’s wider strategy to foster inclusive growth by investing in regional cities. With this new development, the Group says it aims to bridge economic gaps, create employment, and stimulate private sector investment in Eastern Uganda.
