Julie Namara, the Bududa Resident District Commissioner has declared war on health workers who steal government drugs and sell them or take them to their private clinics.

Taitika says, an informant on Thursday, last week notified Police in Bududa that some individuals were selling government drugs at the weekly Bukigai market.
Taitika says a team of police officers was dispatched for a fact finding mission and indeed found Kitakufe and Makwa selling the government drugs which led to their arrest. Taitika says three boxes filled with an assortment of drugs were recovered.
“Upon arrest, the suspects alleged that it is health workers in Bududa District who give them the drugs,” says Taitika.
While speaking to our reporter on Tuesday, 14th October, Namara says she has instructed police and authorities to carry out impromptu checks at all private clinics owned by health workers or near government health facilities.
The RDC who says the two suspects are still at Bududa CPS awaiting prosecution warns that any owner of a private clinic found with labeled government drugs will be arrested.
