Muslims praying at Campswahili as they celebrate the birth of prophet Muhamad

The Muslim community in the Campswahili Ward of Soroti City East on Sunday came together to celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad, emphasizing the importance of peace, unity, and the virtuous actions exemplified by the prophet.

 

This year, according to the Islamic calendar, the anniversary of Prophet Muhammad’s birth (Peace Be Upon Him) falls on Friday, September 5, 2025.

 

The major mosques in Soroti City have been observing this significant day, and it was the turn of the Campswahili mosque to host the third celebrations within September and October.

 

Isa Muhamad Abyang, the chairperson of Masjid Noor Mosque in Campswahili, encouraged the attendees to take this opportunity to reflect on the life, teachings, and enduring legacy of the prophet.

 

Isaac Orego, the NRM flag bearer for the Soroti City East parliamentary seat, joined the celebration and vowed to advocate for equitable service delivery, ensuring that all citizens benefit from government programs. He also called for unity between the Muslim and Christian communities.

 

Sarah Inachu, the NRM flag bearer for the woman MP seat in Soroti City, urged the Muslim community to foster peace and love.

 

She encouraged voters to make wise choices, so they could attain significant positions in the government, similar to those in Katakwi, Kalaki, and Serere districts.

 

Prophet Muhammad is revered as the founder of Islam and stands as the final messenger in a lineage that includes prophets like Abraham, Moses, and Jesus.

 

In numerous Islamic countries, this day is celebrated with prayers, religious lectures, and community gatherings.
