An accident involving a Double Cabin Pick-Up belonging to a Telecom Company and a motorcycle rider has left one person dead while the other survived with minor injuries.
The tragic accident happened at about 10:00 am on Tuesday, 14th October, 2025 along Soroti-Moroto highway.
The deceased has been identified as Bosco Okiror, 50 year old resident of Awojaitoi village, Olelai, Abarilela Sub County, Amuria district.
The deceased, a fish dealer in Katakwi, was riding a motorcycle with the registration number UDV 066Q on the Soroti-Moroto highway from downtown, and was knocked by a double cabin Toyota Hillux with the registration number UBH 303 U, which was heading toward Moroto carrying fuel meant to service telecom masts.
The driver and one other passenger, whose names were not yet known, survived because the airbags saved them, and they swiftly took a Boda-Boda to Katakwi CPS for assistance.
According to eyewitnesses, the deceased was joining the main road when he met his fate.
When contacted for a comment, Regional Police Commander, East Kyoga, Ibrahim Seiga said he had not yet got a Report of the accident.
