Nabumali Boarding Primary School, a government aided School located at Nabumali Town Council, in Mbale district, has unveiled a brand new school bus, courtesy of a partnership with Equity Bank.
According to the Headteacher, Beatrice Katambi Wachaya, the school contributed 20% of the funds, while Equity Bank covered 80% of the cost.
“The purpose of acquiring the bus is to facilitate easy transportation for pupils during tours and to offer support to the neighboring community by hiring it out,” Wachaya said during the unveiling of the bus on Thursday, 23rd October, 2025.
Wachaya noted that prior to procuring the new bus, the school struggled with an old vehicle that frequently experienced mechanical issues.
Equity Manager for the Eastern region, Ronald Nakasanga Sam, who handed over the bus to school leaders, urged the school to make full use of the vehicle. Diocese Secretary Eridadi Shisa, who attended the handover meeting, encouraged parents to teach good manners to the young generation.
Moses Kutoyi, LC III Chairperson of Nabumali Town Council and a parent, expressed his delight with the new bus, stating that it would greatly benefit the children by providing them with reliable transportation.
