Police at Kawempe Division are investigating a case of mob justice that occurred on Tuesday 28th of October 2025 in Kazo Central Zone II, Nansana Division, Wakiso District.
According to the Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, it is alleged that a private security guard, Achem Ahamed, 28, attached to a building housing Hajji Supermarket, noticed a man suspected of breaking into one of the shops.
“When confronted, the suspect resisted arrest and stabbed the guard twice on the head, leaving him seriously injured. The guard made an alarm that attracted members of the community who responded, arrested the suspect, and later assaulted him to death before Police could arrive.” Said ASP Owoyesigyire.
The deceased, only identified as Julius, aged approximately 30, was conveyed to Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem examination.
Police have strongly condemned acts of mob justice and urged members of the public to always hand over suspects to the nearest Police authorities for proper legal action. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
