Police in Kabale District have arrested Rwababa Primary School Headteacher, Drake Kishija, for allegedly blocking a P.7 candidate, from sitting PLE Mathematics paper, 2025 over a Shs 70,000 coaching fee.
The Candidate identified as Ezekiel Ahimbisibwe eventually missed out on the exam because by the time Police went with him to the school, the exam period was almost over.
According to the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate, it was Ahimbisibwe’s brother, a one Esau reported the case to Kabale Police Station prompting police action.
Maate says, upon arrest, the Head teacher claimed he had not seen the candidate until that time when he came to school with the police.
To make matters worse, what the school is demanding is coaching fee which was charged to the candidates during the nationwide industrial action by Primary Teachers,
Maate says, Police is carrying out investigations and the head teacher shall be charged accordingly.
