A Kampala City based businessman has been arraigned before the Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court on allegations of forging President Museveni’s signature in a letter purportedly instructing relevant Ministers to extend a MV Kalangala management contract to Nation Oil Distributors Limited.
Male Nicholus appeared in court on Thursday, 6th November, 2025 where he was charged with forgery and uttering false documents. He has been remanded until November 17, 2025
According to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit that investigated the case, Male on September 18, 2025, Male, with intent to defraud or deceive, uttered a false document dated August 15, 2025, addressed to the Hon. Minister of Works and Transport, and purportedly signed by H.E. the President of the Republic of Uganda.
He allegedly delivered the document to the Ministry of Works and Transport, the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, and the offices of Nations Oil Distributors Limited in Ndeba.
The forged letter claimed that the President had instructed the Minister of Works and Transport to renew the contract of Nation Oil Distributors Limited to continue managing MV Kalangala for another 15 years—an assertion that was false.
It is further alleged that Male Nicholus had earlier presented himself to the Director of Nation Oil Distributors Limited, claiming that he worked with the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) and knew several senior government officials, and that he could assist in securing the renewal of the MV Kalangala management contract.
