A fatal hit-and-run accident has claimed the life of a student, Omawuk Charles, a resident of Okaracha village in Opwatata Sub County in Pallisa district.
The incident occurred on November 22, 2025, at around 5:45 PM along the Pallisa-Kumi road, near Konyamatunga.
According to police Wilfred Kyempasa, the Bukedi North region police spokesperson, Charlies Omawuk was riding a motorcycle, registration number UFC347E, when he swerved to avoid a pedal cyclist and was hit by an unidentified trailer, which sped off towards Kumi.
He says the police team, led by Sgt Mutono Fred, visited the scene and took the body to Pallisa General Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem. The motorcycle has been impounded at Kibale Police Post pending inspection.
The police are investigating the incident and urge anyone with information to come forward.
