MBALE CITY
Uganda Christian University (UCU) has totally banned indecent dressing during the graduation ceremony to take place tomorrow, 28th, at its Mbale University Campus.
The ban was declared today, Thursday, during a press conference held at Courts View Hotel located at Industrial City Division in Mbale city, where university leaders spoke to the media.
According to Reverend Professor George Kitayimbwa, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at UCU, dress code is mainly going to be a key issue before any parent, student, or graduate is given entry.
He says the dress code has been spoilt in this current dotcom era, which has brought indecent behaviors that the university cannot allow because it is a Church founded Institution.
During the press conference, Bishop Samuel George Egesa, the Chairperson of the College Governing Council at UCU, said the UCU Mbale university Campus is going to graduate 580 students from different disciplines at its 26th graduation ceremony.
He added that the guest of honor at the graduation is going to be Justice Catherine Bamugemereire, and other expected guests include Archbishop of Uganda Stephen Kazimba Mugalu and other bishops from different dioceses.
Masete Wokuri, one of the students who got a first-class degree in Social Work and Social Administration, expressed her happiness with the university, saying the skills she got are going to help her become an important person in the community.
