IGANGA
The territorial Police of Iganga have arrested a 16-year-old habitual juvenile offender and are hunting two more suspects for allegedly stealing two heads of cattle.
On the 4th December 2025, the District Police Commander, Iganga, received intelligence information about the planned theft of animals by three men from Itanda Village, Mwira Parish, Nambale Sub County in Iganga district.
ASP Michael Kasadha, the Busoga East Regional Police spokesperson said that through police sources, it was established that they would need a buyer after the theft. The District Crime Intelligence Officer met those individuals with an undercover agent and agreed to execute the deal on 05/12/2025 between 0000/c and 0100/c from Itanda Swamp along Nambale- Nawandala road.
“On the 05/12/2025 at around midnight through our agent, the three suspects drove the animals to the agreed place awaiting payment. Upon confirmation of the target, police officers were dispatched to respond. They successfully intercepted two cows and arrested the juvenile while the other two suspects fled,” said ASP Kasadha.
Upon interrogation, the juvenile disclosed that together with Kaboko Batuli and Zakaria Gerald alias Boy, they stole two cows belonging to Isabirye Famba, a resident of Itanda Village near Itanda Health Center III, Nambale Sub County.
The arrested juvenile is being kept at Iganga CPS on charges of Stealing cattle. A serious man hunt is on to have Kaboko Batuli and Zakaria Gerald apprehended.
Police has implored members of the public and local leaders to cooperate with police in order to fight this criminality especially during this festive season.
