A shocking wave engulfed Bukedea County as the incumbent John Bosco Ikojo’s personal assistant Sam Muron steps down and joins rival NRM flag bearer, David Beecham Okwere’s camp.

Muron worked as Ikojo personal assistant for two terms.

During the NRM party grassroots launch campaign held at Compassion Child Learning Center on Saturday, 6th, Dec 2025, Mr. Muron declared his resignation saying his boss, Ikojo defied party rules by running as an independent candidate after losing in the party primaries to his rival David Beecham Okwere.

“I managed to get the NRM party flag as district councilor to represent the people of Bukedea town council, my so-called boss failed so I no longer work or support him,” said Mr. Muron.

Mr. Muron therefore vowed to champion the mobilization of his former boss’ rival to ensure that he delivers the party mandate.

“I am going to champion the mobilization of the NRM flag bearers at all levels and I want to confirm that I am now for the flag bearer David Beecham Okwere, not for Ikojo anymore,” added Muron.

Isaac Epilo, the Bukedea district NRM party chairperson told this publication that the party instructed his office to remove those who violate the party rules.

“If you’re in the party structure and holding any position and you’re supporting an independent candidate, leave the party”, said Epilo.

Okwere, vying to out- bench incumbent John Bosco Ikojo welcomed Muron saying his decision to join NRM and mostly support him in vote mobilization is remarkable.

He said the NRM party is for peace and unity.

“I welcome all people and as NRM, it’s a party for all and I want us to stand with the NRM manifesto and let all protect the gains”, said Hon Okwere.

Muron has left his boss when there are only thirty nine days to elections.
