The 132kV Owen Falls – Lugogo Transmission Line has developed a fault sending sections of Kampala City into temporary darkness.
According to a statement issued by UEDCL today, Monday, 15th December, 2025, the fault has interrupted power supply to Luzira, Namugongo and Namanve South Substations.
Consequently, areas of Luzira, Kitintale, Namuwongo, Kira, Nalya, Kiwatule, Seeta, Namanve Industrial Park, Nagalama, Ntenjeru are experiencing a power blackout.
“We urge the public to remain calm as our supplier, Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited works to restore power supply as soon as possible,” reads the notice in part.
Customers are also advised to switch off all electrical appliances until power if FULLY restored.
