Ikojo Bosco’s letter to IGG

The Bukedea County Member of Parliament has written to the Inspectorate of Government, Soroti Regional Office over alleged diversion, misappropriation and sale of government procured hoes for Bukedea district farmers.

John Bosco Ikojo in a letter dated 4th January, 2026 and received by the IGG the following day, alleges that the hoes procured by the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries for Bukedea district were diverted before reaching district stores.

Ikojo alleges that the hand hoes were not officially received, recorded or accounted for at the district stores as required by the Public Finance Management Act, Local Government Financial and Accounting Regulations and Stores Management Regulations.

Ikojo who fears that the intended beneficiaries may never receive these hoes alleges that the hoes were sold to a political leader within the district at Shs2,000 each and are currently being stored at the political leaders private residence.

Ikojo request the IGG to among other things, “investigate allegations that proceeds from sale of these hand hoes were unlawfully shared among certain political and district officials including the CAO, CFO, RDC and the LCV Chairperson.”

Ikojo promises to provide the office of the IGG with more details as soon as investigations commence.
