A National Unity Platform, (NUP) campaign rally slated to be held today, 12th January, 2026 at Aga Khan Grounds in Kampala City at 2:00PM may not take place.
The scheduled rally already circulated in a campaign program poster indicating that the day’s first rally at 11:00AM shall be at Kamwokya Ku Kataale has drawn the attention of Aga Khan Foundation management that has denied ever giving NUP permission to use its grounds.
The letter dated 11th January, 2026 and addressed to the Division Police Commander, Old Kampala Police Station categorically states that, “The Aga Khan Foundation wishes to formally clarify that no formal authorization has been granted for any rally or public gathering to be held at the Aga Khan Grounds on the stated date or at any other time.”
