An over speeding Mitsubishi Fuso vehicle, registration number UAQ492L has been involved in a double crash accident, killing two occupants of a Bajaj Boxer and colliding with an oncoming Fuso UAQ859DD.
According to Rogers Taitika the Elgon region police spokesperson, the deceased are Nambale Rogers, 35, a passenger on the motorcycle, and the unidentified rider.
He says the accident occurred on Monday, 23rd February, 2026 at Nalugugu Bridge along the Mbale-Moroto road at about 10:30PM.
He says the motorcycle was heading towards Bulambuli from Mbale side when it was knocked from behind by the speeding Mitsubishi Fuso (UAQ492L), which then collided with the oncoming vehicle (UAQ859DD).
The bodies have been taken to Mbale City Mortuary, and investigations are ongoing. The vehicles are at the scene, pending towing to the police station.
