The Territorial Police has embarked on investigations into the tragic murder incident in Bajjo Lumansi Village, Bajjo Parish, Nyimbwa Sub-County, Luwero District that occurred on Thursday 5th March 2026, at approximately 1:00AM.
A 25-year-old businesswoman identified as Sarah Kabahwezi, alias Shilat, a resident of Bajjo Lumansi Village, was fatally stabbed multiple times and her body was discovered on the roadside, partially covered by a towel, with stab wounds across her body.
According to the police spokesperson Savannah Region, ASP S. Twiineamazima, the deceased and the suspect, 26-year-old casual worker Gilbert Tumwesigye also known as Rasta Niga Bwayi, both residents of the same village had been in a relationship.
They lived under the same roof but rented separate rooms with the deceased using hers as both a bar and sleeping quarters.
Preliminary investigations indicate the suspect witnessed the deceased with another man, a boda boda rider before confronting her in a short distance leading to the fatal stabbing.
Police swiftly attended to the scene, documented it thoroughly, and examined the body on site.
A case of Murder was registered, statements were recorded from witnesses, the suspect was arrested and remains in custody.
By press time, the body had been conveyed to Luwero General Hospital Morgue for post-mortem examination, meanwhile, investigations are ongoing to establish full circumstances, including prior relationship issues involving family interventions.
