Six people are in police custody following an operation conducted by officers from Jinja Road Police Station targeting suspected dealers of stolen vehicle parts in Kiseka Market.
The operation took place on March 5, 2026, between 10:00am and 3:00pm in Central Division, an area known for its busy trade in motor vehicle spare parts.
During the raid, police searched several shops and reportedly recovered a number of suspected stolen items. These included old vehicle grills, side mirrors, headlamps, motor vehicle number plates, spotlights, and baby side mirrors.
Police said the six suspects were arrested after being found in possession of the items whose ownership and origin are still under investigation.
The suspects have been charged with receiving and retaining suspected stolen goods and remain detained at Jinja Road Police Station as police finalize investigations before presenting them in court.
