Mbale City Council has today, Thursday, March 12, 2026 implemented the ongoing Trade Order by demolishing all illegal butcher structures that had been operating along road reserves in the Northern and industrial City Divisions.

During the enforcement operation, several unauthorized structures were brought down to restore order and ensure compliance with the city’s regulations on proper business locations.

Among the structures affected were those located around Mission Road in Namakwekwe, Mbale Northern City Division.

The operation also affected premises associated with a prominent meat supplier, Teka Sente Wolaba, situated along the Mbale–Soroti Road.

Mbale City Deputy Town, Clerk Hasoho Jolly says the exercise is going to continue in the entire city until order is brought in the City.

The Industrial City Division Town Clerk, Geoffrey Mugisha who is leading the operation says the ongoing enforcement is aimed at clearing illegal structures from road reserves, improving sanitation, and restoring proper order within Mbale City.

Officials have urged traders and business operators to follow designated trading areas and comply with the city’s regulations to avoid further enforcement actions.
