A Parish Development Model, (PDM) Chairperson in Kiryandongo district has been arraigned before court on charges of obtaining money from prospective PDM beneficiaries.
According to a State House statement issued on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, the suspect is Nangoti Peter, Chairperson of Panyadoli PDM SACCO.
The arrest follows a Presidential directive aimed at exposing and holding accountable individuals engaged in extorting money from citizens under the pretence of facilitating access to the PDM Secretariat funds.
This arrest demonstrates Government’s efforts to preserve the integrity of the program by taking decisive action against fraudulent schemes targeting wananchi.
Nangoti was remanded on charges of allegedly obtaining Shs2,878,400 from 15 individuals through false pretenses after misleading them into believing that payment was required to access PDM funds.
“It is important to note that no payment is necessary to benefit from the program,” reads the State House statement.
Nangoti was arrested on March 6, 2026, produced before the court on March 13, 2026, and subsequently remanded to prison as investigations and prosecution proceedings continue.
