A habitual thief has been arrested over vehicle number plates’ theft and is currently being held at Katwe CPS.
According to KMP Police Spokesperson, SP Rachael Kawala, Katushabe Saul, a 26-year old, resident of Lweza in Kajjansi Town Council, Wakiso District was arrested on 28th March, 2026 upon a tip off.
She says Katushabe is believed to have been operating in areas including Lweza, Najjanankumbi, Zana, Katale, and Nfufu, among others.
On 28/03/2026, Police received information about a suspected car vandal trespassing in residential areas of Najjanankumbi. He was reportedly seen peeping into people’s gates, which raised suspicion among nearby private security guards who alerted the authorities.
Upon his arrest, the suspect led officers to the recovery of eight (08) stolen number plates. Preliminary investigations indicate that he is a habitual offender.
The number plates are; UBD 725W, UBM 789X, UBL 498A and UBG 577V. Others are; UBQ 589E, UBN 919N, UBB 336X and UBE 357G.
