Police Arrests Jilted Teacher in Iganga for Murdering Wife, Torching In-Laws House

The territorial Police in Iganga have arrested a 27-year-old teacher for allegedly murdering his wife. The deceased and suspect have been identified as Namusobya Jackline, 24 and Kamya Denis, respectively, all residents of Nankoma in Bugiri district.

 

The incident occurred on Monday the 30th of March at Nampirika B Village, Nakalama Sub County Iganga District.

 

ASP Kasadha Michael, the Busoga East Regional spokesperson says initial findings suggest that Kamya went to his in-law’s home, following his wife. He was welcomed by the mother-in-law. Meanwhile, his wife was preparing to make tea. However, Kamya followed the wife to the kitchen from where he allegedly stabbed her to death.

 

The deceased’s brother identified as Musobya Paul tried to rescue the situation, but the suspect stabbed him on the left cheek. He further went on and set the in-law’s living house on fire, before being beaten up by a mob of angry residents.

 

The scene of crime was visited by a team of detectives led by OC CID, Iganga and relevant statements were recorded from witnesses at the crime scene.

 

By press time, the Body had been taken to Iganga hospital mortuary for postmortem while the suspect was being guarded at Iganga hospital where he is receiving treatment.
