UEDCL Shuts Down Power in 12 Western Districts for Two Days

Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) has shut-down power in 12 districts of Western Uganda effective Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

 

A statement issued by the Head Corporate and Stakeholders Affairs, Jonan Kizza dated 6th April, 2026 says the shutdown will run from Tuesday, April 7, 2026 to Wednesday, beginning at 8:00am to 5:00pm.

 

The affected districts are: Fort Portal City, Kyenjojo, Kibaale, Bundibugyo, Ntoroko and Masindi.

 

Others are; Biiso, Hoima City, Kiboga, Kyankwanzi, Kagadi, Bunyangabu, and Kikuube.

 

The planned shutdown is to enable UEDCL carry out effective critical system improvement works at the Fort Portal 132kV substation.
