In an apparent blackmail scheme, a Kampala man reported a husband to police claiming he had hired him to bump off his wife.
According to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit that picked interest in the case, Kizito Ronald in February 2026 went to Kira Police Station and falsely reported that he had been hired by one Mr. Mugimba Robert to kill his wife, Mrs. Mugimba.
However, in March 2026, he confessed to have lied about the matter and then demanded from Mr. Mugimba Shs4M in order to retract the earlier false reports.
The State House Anti-Corruption Unit set up a trap where Kizito was arrested red-handed while receiving the money from Mr. Mugimba.
Kizito was consequently arraigned before the Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court on charges of demanding money with menaces today, Monday, 13th April, 2026 and remanded until 30th April, 2026.
