MANAFWA: Police Names 5 Persons Who Perished on Bubulo Lwakhakha Road Accident on Friday

Elgon region Police on Sunday, 12th April, 2026 named all five people who perished in a nasty accident that took place on Friday night, 10th April, 2026 along Bubulo Lwakhakha road at about 8:00PM.

 

According to Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson a fatal accident occurred at Bumakheti Cell, Butiru Town Council in Manafwa District, killing five people, including a six-month-old baby.

 

He says a Toyota Hiace (UBG 919Z) coming from Lwakhakha side collided with a Bajaj Boxer motorcycle Reg No. KMGL 195Y coming from Bugobero side on the Manafwa-Lwakhakha road, killing all the occupants on the motorcycle.

The victims, all on the boda boda motorcycle, were identified as Wakimwanyi John Bosco, (the motorcycle rider), a 24year old resident of Bududa District, Bumirume Village, Bumirume Parish, Bukigai Sub County.

 

Wanditi Exovel, a 22 year old resident of Butiliku Upper Village, Butiliku Parish, Bukigayi Sub County Bududa District.

 

 

Kutosi Ivan, a 25 year old resident of Bumakhase East Village, Butiliku Parish, Bududa District.

 

 

Nanyama Sephia, resident of Buchemayi Village, Buwaisha Parish, Bubutu Sub County in Namisindwa District with her daughter, 6 months old Nambuya Trinah.

 

 

 

Taitika adds that bodies were picked and delivered to the city mortuary pending postmortem, but the Motorcycle is parked at Manafwa CPS pending inspection and the Motor vehicle was driven to Butiru Police Station pending inspection by IOV.

 

Meanwhile, the Manafwa police is hunting for the taxi driver who knocked dead the as investigations continue.
