The Education Service Commission has announced that going forward, it is important to confirm the real identity of the applicant for confirmation in service.
This is revealed in a letter addressed to the Ministry of Education and Sports by the Education Service Commission dated Monday, 13th April, 2026.
The letter signed by the Permanent Secretary, Education Service Commission, Dr. Lukwago Asuman says that with effect from 1st April 2026, each submission in respect of application for confirmation in service should have a Photocopy of the Applicant’s National Identity Card.

The new requirement is in addition to the already existing requirements that include; Forwarding letter from the headteacher/Principal, TSC Form No. 4(1993) duly filled and endorsed by Head of Institution, completion of probation period, accompanied by Appraisal Forms.
Others are; Photocopy of Letter of first Appointment, Photocopy of Acceptance letter, Photocopy of Posting Instruction, Assumption of duty letter, and Photocopy of Recent Pay slip.
Applicants are also required to attach Registration Certificate(s), Academic certificates and transcripts as well as professional certificates (photo copies) and Affidavit or marriage certificate for women in case of variation in names.
