A Leading happening joint in Lira City has kissed the environmental law the wrong way, courting National Environment Management Authority’s (NEMA) wrath.

Legacy Lounge located in Lira City has allegedly continuously violated environmental noise standards despite an earlier Improvement Notice dated September 2025 requiring soundproofing or reduced noise levels.

Responding to the non-compliance, NEMA Enforcement team today, Wednesday, April 15, 2026 swung into action and impounded the sound equipment.

“NEMA has, Wednesday 15th April, impounded sound equipment and opened a police case (SD Ref: 71/12/2025) against Legacy Lounge following continued violations of environmental noise standards,” reads a NEMA statement.

NEMA also says that the promoters of the facility will be brought to book under the National Environment (Noise Standards and Control) Regulations and relevant city ordinances.
