An Engineer at Kamuge Seed School has been killed together with a female passenger he was carrying on his motorcycle in a fatal road accident today, Friday, April 17, 2026.
According to Wilfred Kyempasa, the Bukedi North region police spokesperson, the collision involved a silver Mercedes Benz (UBE 954L) and a maroon motorcycle (UGB 126Z), resulting in the deaths of the motorcycle rider, Tumusiime Fred, and passenger Kanyago Agali.
Tumusiime is a resident of Kamuge Village, Kamuge Town Council in Pallisa District while Kanyago is a resident of Bukatikoko Village, Nabugalo Parish, Kameruka Sub County in Budaka District.
The fatal road crash occurred at around 11:05 am along the Mbale-Tirinyi road in Kamonkoli, Budaka district, near Livingstone University.
Kyempasa says the Mercedes Benz driver, heading from Mbale to Budaka, allegedly overtook carelessly, colliding with the motorcycle, which was carrying a passenger and heading to Mbale.
He says the victims’ bodies have been taken to Budaka HCIV mortuary pending postmortem while the vehicles involved have been towed to Budaka police yard for inspection.
Police are investigating, and the driver of the Mercedes Benz is still at large.
