The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has unveiled its Strategic Plan 2025–2030, setting out a clear roadmap to deliver “Water for All for Health and Prosperity.”

The plan aligns with Uganda’s national development frameworks, including Vision 2040 and NDP IV, and is designed to expand access to safe, reliable, and sustainable water services across urban centres.

Presenting the plan, on Friday, 17th April, 2026, NWSC highlighted strong progress registered between 2020 and 2025, including growth in service areas, an increase in customers to over 1 million, and improved operational performance.

Despite these gains, the Corporation acknowledged ongoing challenges such as rapid urbanisation, population growth, climate change, and infrastructure constraints.

To address these, the 2025–2030 strategy focuses on key priorities including infrastructure expansion, environmental protection, digital transformation, improved customer experience, and financial sustainability.

NWSC targets to increase the population served from 20 million to 26 million people, expand pipeline networks, reduce water losses, and enhance efficiency in service delivery.

The Corporation emphasised that achieving these goals will require strengthened partnerships, innovation, and sustainable financing, calling on stakeholders to support the collective effort to ensure equitable access to clean and safe water for all Ugandans.
