JUST IN! Commander of Armed Warriors Arrested Swigging Waragi in Kaabong

A Joint Security force of ASTU and UPDF personnel has arrested a notorious armed suspect, believed to be a commander of armed warriors in Kaabong district.

 

According to a police statement issued today, Tuesday, April 21, 2026, by the Police Spokesperson, ACP Kituuma Rusoke, Ngora Alinga Lonyangateba, a resident of Morulem Village, Lomeris Parish, Kaabong West Sub-county was arrested on 17th April, 2026 while imbibing waragi at Napeikodo Centre, Lomeris Parish, Kaabong West Sub- County.

 

A joint team of ASTU and UPDF personnel responded to the information at about 5:00PM and the operation resulted in the arrest of Ngora and two other suspects.

 

Kituuma says among those arrested was Ngora who is believed to be a notorious raider and leader of armed warriors in the area.

 

During preliminary interrogation, the suspect admitted to possessing a firearm. He gave good leads of who was in possession of the rifle.

 

All three suspects were transferred to UPDF 45 Battalion Headquarters in Kaabong for further management and ongoing investigations.

 

Security operations are continuing to recover the said firearm and apprehend any other suspects linked to criminal activities in the area.
