Manafwa district local government has secured 1.1 billion shillings to construct new headquarters.

LCV chairperson Kosea Kigai Kimono revealed this in an exclusive interview with our reporter on Sunday, 3rd May, 2026.

Kimono said the ministry of local government allocated the funds, and construction will resume after being halted at the foundation stage.

The LCV chairperson says the district will receive the funds in quarters, as per the ministry’s directive, until the building is completed.

He says the entire project is expected to cost 1.4 billion shillings.

Kosea notes that the current building is too small, and the new one will accommodate some district offices, improving service delivery.

Isaac Matanda, the Manafwa district speaker urged the people of Manafwa district to embrace the project saying this is going to improve on service delivery.
