The Ministry of Works and Transport has temporarily closed the Nateete-Nakawuka Road and specifically the section running from Mutundwe Road Junction to Old Masaka Road junction.
The announcement was made today, 13th May, 2026 by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Works and Transport, Bageya Waiswa.
Bageya says the closure that will take effect on Friday, 15th May, 2026 shall remain in force for three months to allow for construction of drainage culverts under the ongoing road upgrade project.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes including Old Masaka road, Masaka road, Entebbe road through Kajjansi, Mutundwe and Wankulukuku connections.
“The works are intended to improve drainage, reduce flooding and enhance road durability,” says Bageya urging motorists to follow traffic guidance and directional signage during the construction period.
