The Ministry of Health has confirmed two more Ebola cases bringing the confirmed number to seven.
This is revealed in a Ministry of Health statement issued today, Monday, May 25, 2026 and signed by Director General Health Services, Dr. Olaro Charles.
The Ministry says the two cases are medical workers in a private health facility within Kampala City adding that both patients have been admitted in a designated facility and are receiving treatment.
“All contacts linked to the confirmed cases are being listed for a follow-up by response teams,” says Dr. Olaro in the statement
Meanwhile the Ministry urges the general public to report suspected cases of Ebola to the nearest health facility arguing that early detection increases chances of recovery and stops spread of the deadly virus.
Ebola symptoms typically appear 2 to 21 days after exposure, often beginning with “dry” flu-like signs such as a sudden fever, intense fatigue, severe headache, muscle and joint pain, and a sore throat.
As the virus progresses, these escalate to “wet” symptoms, including severe vomiting, watery diarrhea, impaired kidney and liver function, and unexplained internal or external bleeding.
